Mr. Harold Phillip Howell of Llantrisant died sometime during 2006. Unfortunately we were not informed of his passing until four years later. Harold was at sea from 1939 until 1946. He was also an accomplished painter and painted “The Convoy” which was presented to the Cardiff County Council when we were awarded the Freedom of the City in 2001.

W.P. John, (387), of Barry, died August 2007. He served as an A.B. between 1934 and 1946. His ships included Antigone, Sevilla, Guelma (which was torpedoed and sunk in July 1941), Generton, British Dominian, Baron Samsey and Fort McLeod
Kenneth Fern Hillberg, (351), of Barry, died during 2007. He served at sea between 1949 and 1954. His ships included Valldemosa, Merchant Royal and Fulham IX.

Joseph Taylor, (326) of Barry, died October 2008. He served as a Donkeyman between 1936 and 1946. His ships included North Devon, Baron Carneige and City of Lancaster
Norman Neill, (332), of Barry, died October 2008. He served as a D.H.U. between 1960 and 1966. His ships included Manchester Trader, Pendinnis Castle and Queen Mary.

2009
Mr. Tim Carmichael of Cowbridge. It is with deep regret that I announce that our Minutes Secretary and very good friend Tim crossed the bar at 7 p.m. yesterday Wednesday 14th January 2009 at the age of 69. His funeral was held on Tuesday 27th January with services at Holy Cross Church, Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan at 1215, and the Crematorium, Coychurch near Bridgend at 1315.
Mr. Tony David of Roath, Cardiff. Tony died on the 17th April. He served as a Chief Steward but unfortunately details of his time at sea are not available at this time. The funeral was held at 1115 on Tuesday 5th May at Thornhill Crematorium Cardiff.
Mr. Bill Marshall of Ely, Cardiff. Bill died on the 26th April at the age of 89. He was one of the founder members of the Association. Unfortunately details of his time at sea are not available at this time. The funeral was held at 1330 on Friday 8th May at Thornhill Crematorium Cardiff .
Mr David Edwin B. (DEB) Evans of Bridgend. DEB died on 15th July at the age of 87. He joined his first ship the Janeta in January 1940. His last ship was the Tyndall which he left in October 1950. Unfortunately full details of his time at sea are not available at this time. The funeral was held at the Coychurch Crematorium near Bridgend on 30th July.
Mrs. June Germon of Barry. June was an Associate member of the Barry Branch and sadly died in September.
Leonard Clifford Deacon of Cardiff, Leonard died in November. He joined his first ship the Empire Zephyr in September 1943 and served as a Cook in the Catering Department between September 1943 and June 1948. His last ship being the Trewellard. His funeral was held at Thornhill Crematorium on Wednesday 25th November.
Mr. J.Frank Anthony of Boverton, Llantwit Major. Frank died on the 29th December. He was at sea from 1942 until 1957. His first ship was the Baron Cawdor. Other ships included Llandaff, Nordic Star and his last ship the John Star.
2010
Mr. Clive John Webber of Rhoose. Clive died on the 2nd January. He was at sea from 1959 until 1961. His ships included the Empire Star and the Auckland Star.
Mr. Thomas Leslie Ellis of Barry. Thomas died on the 27th January. Unfortunately details of time at sea are not available at this time.
Mr. Howard John Smith of Cardiff. Howard (or Sam as he was known) died on 17th March. He was at sea from 1975 to 1994 and served with P & O, Shell, Esso and Greek Shipping companies. In retirement he was involved in volunteer work with the Goluelong 2000 Lightship at Cardiff Bay,

Mr. Edgar Albert Samuel George of Cardiff. Edgar died on 17th January at the age of 85.
F.F. Farrelly of Cowbridge. An Associate Member of the Barry Branch. Died 4th March.
Mr. Kenneth Lloyd Smith of Cardiff. Kenneth died 26th March at the age of 80.
W.J. E Irish of Barry. Died 31st March.
Mrs. S. Williams of Barry. Mrs Williams was an Associate Member of the Barry Branch and died 20th April.
Mr. Brian Sheryn of Pontypridd. Mr Sheryn died in June at the age of 87.
Mrs Pat Tobin of Barry. Pat was an Associate Member of the Barry Branch and died in October at the age of 79.
Mr. Bernard Chancellor of Cardiff. Bernard was for many years an active member of the Committee. He died in December at the age of 80.

Mr. Alf Thomas of Cardiff. Died 22nd February age 82
Alf was at sea between 1948 and 1958 and served as a Deck Officer in Ramillies, Ravenshoe, African Prince, Ocean Monarch, Queen of Bermuda and others. He joined the Association in March 1999 and until recently held the post of Membership Secretary.
Mr. Ron Powell of Bridgend. Died 27th February age 86.

Captain Ray Newbury of St. Nicholas. Died 5th May age 87.
Ray was a founder member of the Association and served as a Committee member from the outset. He was appointed Treasurer in May 1997 a position he held until his untimely death in May 2014 at the age of 87.
