9th September 2022 His Majesty The King Buckingham Palace LONDON SW1A 1AA Your Majesty, It is with the deepest sadness that The Merchant Navy Association has learned of the death of our Sovereign, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. We take great comfort from the dedication and the commitment she gave to this, our Maritime Nation and to all peoples of her Commonwealth. As Master of the Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleets Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II understood, more than most, the importance of the roles of seafarers and the vessels they served in. There are no words to adequately express our thoughts and feelings at the loss of a loved one. Your mother, our Queen, was dearly loved by all. Please accept our condolences and know that our thoughts are with the whole of The Royal Family at this time. I have the honour to be, Your Majesty, your humble and obedient servant. Yours aye, Captain Malcolm Mathison MNM FEI MNI. The Merchant Navy Association Immediate Past Chairman Website www.mna.org.uk Registered Charity #1135661
